Goodbye

First of all, I would like to say thank you to all the nice people who have accompanied us over the last few years. We have made many great new friends in Zittau and would love to hear from you from time to time.
Anja had the idea of going abroad for a longer period of time when she was very young and, as a little adventurer, I wasn't entirely averse to the idea either. During our early days in Zittau, this desire grew and South America was chosen because we liked the culture, the landscape and the feeling we imagined it would have. Over time, the idea continued to mature and when it became apparent that our training was coming to an end, the first plans were made. As life goes, plans were thrown overboard again and after a lot of back and forth, we finally got down to business and booked the outward flight. Since then, not only the anticipation has steadily increased, but also the planning and implementation, which traditionally takes a little longer for me. For example, my vaccinator said to me - I was once again very late and all the necessary vaccinations could just about be injected - "Yes, without women, mankind would have died out long ago", because Anja was, as always, ready in exemplary fashion and had all possible additional vaccinations.
We want to be surprised on our trip and have therefore only planned a rough itinerary and the first week. We will start in the capital of Chile (Santiago de Chile) and then preferably take buses south to Patagonia, then to Argentina and via Paraguay and Bolivia to the north. There we have set Cuba as our destination, even though it is already Central America, and then finally we will travel to Peru to visit Machu Pichu. The place is currently closed, but we're just hoping for the best. If the wind blows properly and I can chill out on the beach, there might be a small addition to the blog with a map on which you can follow our journey. By the way, we start on 11.11.
As I'm also an enthusiastic climber and already miss the pretty Zittau Mountains, I'm hoping to fulfill a little dream and climb a small big wall in the Andes. Maybe there will be a crazy South American :) .
So best regards to you all, say
Pascal & Anja
Ps:
I have decided to publish a new entry once a week. If you are already waiting impatiently, please write to me.
